The Fiji Government today signed a $23 million dollar project with the China Railway First Group for the upgrading project along the Kings Road and Lodoni Road Projects.

Permanent Secretary at the Works Ministry, Cama Tuiloma said they have no hesitation in awarding China Railway First Group with the project as they have proved themselves in the completion of the Naqali bridge and are also now working on the construction of housing lots in Tacirua East.

Tuiloma added that the project is not very difficult, as all major structures such as bridges have already been completed and he is confident that China Railway will complete the work within the contracted period of 21 months.

This contract stipulates that China Railway should engage villagers in construction activities to improve their knowledge.

Two months ago the Government of Fiji signed a contract with China Railway for Exim Bank China to fund $89 million dollars of road upgrade.
