16 year old Fiji born Hossana Kabakoro, who has spent most of her life in the United States of America, has been chosen to be an aide to US senators.

The Naweni lass, in Cakaudrove, has been chosen as one of the thirty secondary school students in the States who will spend the rest of President George Bush's final congressional term in Senate.

Part of their job will be taking messages for the senators or answering phone calls right up to preparing the Chamber for Senate sessions.

Kabakoro won a prestigious award last year in recognition of her hard work in school and the community in Idaho and will leave her home in September bound for the US Capital Washington DC to start her duties.
