About 1,000 athletes and officials will take part in this weekend’s Fiji Games.

Fiji Games Organizing Committee Chairman Reg Sanday said this year’s games will be different from the previous ones as this will serve as trials for some of the athletes for the upcoming Pacific Mini Games.

There will be a total of 25 sports and athletics has been confirmed to take place at the new ANZ Stadium tracks.

Sanday added this will also be a good opportunity for schools to try out their athletes before the Coca-Cola Games.

Meanwhile, some of the districts are still yet to confirm their participation

The Fiji Games will kick off this Friday and ends on Sunday.
