The Fiji Football Association is in the process of purchasing eight acres of land in Naqai, Labasa where the Northern soccer academy will be built.

FIFA is providing a grant of US$500,000 to the Fiji FA for this project.

This is good news for the people of the Northern division as they can expect top soccer facilities.

Fiji FA’s CEO, Bob Kumar said the Northern soccer academy will have a few playing fields, accommodation blocks, offices and meeting rooms.

He said they expect construction work to start by the end of this year.
