New Zealand has stamped its mark in top level football after the team’s brilliant performance at the FIFA World Cup, and now the focus is on Fiji.

The question now arises if Fiji soccer has the capabilities to qualify for the tournament which is most watched around the world.

While it can be said that nothing much may be done in the past to get our national soccer team to the FIFA World Cup, serious steps are now being taken to see that Fiji soccer develops by the year 2022 for the FIFA World Cup.

Fiji Football's National Technical Director Saiyed Ali said he is preparing a long term plan which is titled "Project 22" and this will see the Fiji soccer team move up to a level where it can beat teams like New Zealand and qualify for the World Cup.

Ali confirmed he will be putting his plans before Fiji FA President Dr Samshu Dean Sahu Khan by next year.
