Fiji Football Association will investigate an incident where the referee in the Lautoka and Navua match yesterday was provided security after some fans tried to attack him.

Referees Director, Chandra Segran confirmed that referee Ravitesh Bihari had to be escorted out of Churchill Park yesterday afternoon by security guards after fans tried to throw empty cans at him.

According to Segran, Bhihari had red carded two of Lautoka's players in the match.

Police later took some fans to the Lautoka Police station who were questioned in relation to the incident.

The Lautoka and Navua match ended in a 3-all draw.

In another National soccer league match yesterday Nasinu went down to the Under 20 side by 3-2.

In a match played on Saturday, Ba beat Suva by 3-1.
