The Asco Motors Fiji Netball team has dropped in the world rankings at the World Netball Championships, being held in New Zealand, after their tragic loss to the Cook Islands by 42 goals to 36 this afternoon.
Speaking to Village sports, former national rep and Fiji netball team captain, Vasiti Vocea, said that the loss is very disappointing.
Vocea adds that one of the major weaknesses in this World Cup team is that they lacked options when under pressure.
Despite beating the Cook Islands team and winning gold at the Pacific Games in Samoa, Vocea believes that the team they played today was more overseas based compared to the team they met with in Samoa.
Fiji will now go on to the playoffs for the 9th to the 16th position.
In other games played so far; Barbados beat Malaysia 62-38, Malawi beat 55-52, and Australia thrashed Scotland 93- 20.
In the game currently underway, Samoa is leading Trinidad by 49-47.
