The Fiji Deaf Rugby team has won their test match over the Australian Deaf Rugby side this morning in Nadi.

They won the match by 26 points to 24.

Team coach Peceli Tawake said it was a good build-up match for the side, as they hope to play a few more test matches next year.

Tawake said the Fiji Deaf team has qualified for the 2011 Deaf Rugby World Cup and needs to play more test matches to tackle top teams like New Zealand, Japan and Wales.

He said negotiations with other Deaf Rugby Associations are underway to send their teams to Fiji to play in the Pacific Cup and this will also be part of the build-up for the 2011 tournament.
