With the theme Educating Fiji towards Change, Peace and Progress, Fiji Day celebrations will mainly target the children and youths of this country.

The Ministry of Education has been tasked to facilitate the celebrations, as the theme proposes that from a young age we should encourage and nurture mutual respect of other races and culture through the various educational programs, which also recognizes that despite our differences we can still build a more unified country.

The Fiji Day organizing committee said there will also be 25 stalls at Albert Park where celebrations are going to be centered.

The committee said industrial arts and vocational/students projects from nine schools will be displayed while the rest of the stalls will be taken up by the different ministries to educate people on the services they provide.

Fiji Day celebrations start this Friday morning at 9.15 with a march through Suva ending at Albert Park.
