A nine year old Fiji burns victim will be spending the next three weeks in the YMCA hostel near Hutt Hospital in Wellington after weeks of painful rehabilitation following skin grafts.

Ishraq Ali had suffered 40 percent burns of his body in a petrol fire at his home and is in YWCA for his physiotherapy and outpatient appointments.

Ali's father, Shaan Ali who works as a cane cutter said that he was grateful to the nurses, physiotherapist and Rotary Oceanic Medical Aid and the Children First Foundation in Melbourne who raised about $60,000 for his surgery.

Ali who spent his entire overseas experience indoors told Dominion Post that his dream is to visit Wellington Zoo before coming home.
