The Vodafone Fiji Bati's dreams of taking part in the Four Nations tournament was shattered yesterday after they were edged by the Cook Islands by 24-22.

The Wes Naiqama captained side were leading 22-20 with five minutes of the game remaining, but their defence was poor, allowing the Cook Islands to score from a high kick, sending the Cook Islanders to the finals next Sunday.

Fiji coach Terry Gilogley said that the side committed alot of errors and their handling skills was very poor and that cost them dearly.

The Cooks will play the winner of the Papua New Guinea-Tonga match, which will be played today.

Meanwhile, Defending World Champions New Zealand were held to a 20-all draw by Australia in the Four Nations match that has just concluded at Twickenham.

Man-of-the-Match was given to Lance Hohaia.

Hohaia said that they were aiming for a win but they are happy with the draw.
