Fiji Bati Hammers France
France did not have any answers to the Fijian onslaught led by Captain Wes Naiqama.
The Bati side scored a total of 7 tries in the game with Nadroga lad and Newcastle Knights winger Akuila Uate crossing the line three times.
The Bati started the game strongly with the opening points just two minutes into the match from a Naiqama penalty, for the side to lead 2-nil.
In the 5th minute, Paramatta Eels full-back Jarod Hayne scored Fiji's first try but the conversion was missed by Naiqama, as they extended the lead to 6-nil.
Vice-Captain, Iowane Divavesi had to wait for the video referee's confirmation in the 30th minute for the Bati's third try which was converted by the Captain for a 12-nil lead.
France crossed the Bati's line in the 33rd minute for their only score of the night as Fiji led 12-6, but Akuila Uate combined well with his Newcastle Knight's team member Wes Naiqama, to score his opening try for the match and giving the Bati a 16-6 lead. Naiqama kicked another penalty for the Joe Rabele coached side to enjoy a 18-6 lead at halftime.
The Fiji Bati started the second half strongly with the 4th try just after two minutes to winger Akuila Uate.
Captain Naiqama kicked another penalty for a 26-6 lead, before Semisi Tora crossed over for the 5th try, after combining with first five eight Alipate Tani.
Hayne scored his second try for the match after breaking away from 3 French tackles inside his own half and the Bati enjoyed a 38-6 lead.
It was not over yet as Uate scored his 3rd try and Fiji's 7th for the night, which was converted by Captain Naiqama for the 42-6 win.
Last night's victory has left Fiji leading the points table with two points and a game in hand against Scotland at 9.10pm on Wednesday.
Halfback Aaron Groom was named man of the match.
