The Vodafone Fiji Bati Captain Wes Naiqama insists his side can handle the challenge of playing a third match in just 10 days against Ireland.

The southern hemisphere side gave themselves a chance of making the semifinals by topping Pool Two despite losing 18-16 to Scotland.

Naiqama admitted their Gold Coast clash with the Irish will not be easy, but the New Castle Knights star who kicked two goals against the Scots believes his side can make the last four.

He said the match against Ireland will be tough and they will have to build more pressure if they are to win.

Naiqama had also warned his players not to panic when they are losing and that was the main reason for the side to lose against Scotland.

The winner of Fiji Bati and Ireland match today at 8:55pm will advance into the semifinals.

Meanwhile, in last night's matches at the Rugby League World Cup, Australia defeated Papua New Guinea by 46 points to 6 and Samoa beat France by 42 points to 10.
