Fiji Barbas lose key players
Nawaka tournament director Mataiasi Nabau has confirmed that they have received confirmation that the likes of captain Emosi Vucago, Osea Kolinisau, Pio Tuwai and Jerry Burotu will not play in the Fiji Babas team.
Nabau added this will not affected the Iliesa Tanivula coached side as they will still be made up of players who have played in the Fiji team in past tournaments.
The Fiji Rugby Union this morning confirmed that the Fiji Babas team will be named tomorrow although it will only be a day left for the tournament to kick off.
20 players are contracted under the High Performance Unit which the selectors can pick from for the Nawaka 7s.
Two key players Pio Tuwai and Waisale Beci are ruled out because of injuries while it is likely that Burotu, Setefano Cakau and Lepani Nabuliwaqa have opt to play for the Wardens.
The Fiji barbarians are the top favorites for the Nawaka 7s which also have teams like Police, Army, Nawaka, Wardens and Mala Young Boys vying the $10,000 dollars prize-money.
The Nawaka 7s will kick off on Friday at 11am at Prince Charles Park.
