The Digicel Fiji 7s Barbarians team is the top seeded side in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s this weekend.
Although Wardens is the defending champion of the Marist 7s, the presence of players like Jerry Burotu, Miti Nacagilevu, Watisoni Votu, Ilai Tinai and Apisai Nayabo in the Fiji team gives them the favourites tag for this tournament.
Fiji Babas lead Pool 1 with Nabukavesi, Senibua and Somosomo Sharks from Taveuni.
Coach Iliesa Tanivula has rested most of his top players over the weekend and is expected to use them in the Marist 7s with high hopes that they will do better than last week’s result where they lost to Wardens in the semifinal.
Fiji Babas will play against the Samoa Barbarians this afternoon at 4pm at the Corpus Christi ground in a warm up match.
The Marist 7s kicks off on Friday at 9am at the TFL Stadium.
