Fiji Barbarians Fall Short
The Iliesa Tanivula coached side lost to Buenos Aires in the quarterfinals this morning by 21 points to 14.
Buenos Aires, a club team from Argentina, were leading 21-0 at half time while the Fiji Babas scored two tries in the second spell but it was not enough as they bowed out of the tournament.
Fiji Barbarians yesterday defeated SIC 27-0 and Los Troncos 43-0 to reach the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile reigning champions Samoa remain on track for the defence of their title after they qualified for the semifinals with a 21-17 win over Wolves Moby Dick. They will now meet Buenos Aires in the semifinals later this afternoon.
The other semifinal will be played between Argentina and Italia after Argentineans defeated La Tablada 33-14 and Italians beat Tonga 24-12.
