The Fiji Barbarians side are on track to engrave their name as the winners of the first-ever Digicel Suva International Sevens, as they are one of the top four teams that have advanced into the semifinal stages.
Though the Barbarians were given two yellow cards in the match against Ratu Felise, coach Iliesa Tanivula said the Nadroga based team gave them a good run for their money.
Tanivula added he is looking forward to meeting Waimanu again in the finals, the side they lost to in yesterday's pool games by 12-nil.
Waimanu, Suva, and USA are the other three teams that have confirmed their places in the Cup semifinals.
Waimanu defeated Canada 12-10 and Canada coach Morgan Williams raised concerns after the match on the decision made by the referee, which he claims contributed to the loss.
Suva coach Kalisito Tunaulu said the game against Wardens yesterday helped a lot in preparing the team for their win 14-5 win against Police.
Meanwhile, USA coach Al Caravelli said they were lucky to edge the Wardens side and hopes his boys will better their performance in the next match.
The first Cup semifinal is at 4:42pm and the second match is at 5:04pm.
Looking at the results from the Cup quarterfinals, Waimanu defeated Canada 12-10, Suva beat Police 19-5, Fiji Barbarians beat Ratu Felise 19-5 and USA, the lone overseas team to advance into the semifinals, beat Wardens 12-10.
The first Cup semifinal is at 4:42pm and the second match is at 5:04pm.
