The long awaited new Fijian design aircraft for Fiji Airways was finally unveiled last night.

Air Pacific, hosted a world premier event at Village Six Cinemas to introduce the new features of its brand-new Airbus A330s scheduled to take to the skies next year.

Speaking during the unveiling, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said the new designs on Fiji’s national air carrier are very important as it is like a flag of this country.

Commodore Bainimarama also paid special tribute to the staff and management of Air Pacific who have transformed the company to what it is now and especially to the designer of the Tapa logo, Makareta Matemosi.

Air Pacific CEO and Managing Director, David Pflieger said they decided to drop the rainbow logo because it did not represent Fiji.

Matemosi said after designing the logo over a three month period, she still cannot come to terms with the fact that Fiji’s national airline will use her Tapa Design for the world to see.
