Our national airline will take to the skies as “Fiji Airways” from today.

This follows the launch of the brand by Acting Prime Minster, Attorney General and Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at the Sheraton Hotel.

According to Sayed-Khaiyum amongst those who stand to gain from this transition are the staff of Fiji Airways who will receive a share of the airline’s profits.

Speaking at the launch last night, Acting CEO Aubrey Swift said the transition of the airline continues until the end of November with a range of training that goes on beyond this point.

Swift added today they will also be introducing a range of products and services like new uniforms, new on board meals and increased flights between Fiji and some of its biggest tourism markets.

Last night saw the launch of the new Fiji Airways uniforms which also features Makereta Matemosi’s stunning Masi designs.

The design of the uniforms was put together by Fiji-based fashion designer Alexandra Poenaru-Philp.

Meanwhile, the Legend FM personalities will be doing a street promotion called Legend FM Qiri Kava around Suva today.

Legend FM personalities together with the Qiri Kava Band will be walking around Suva between 12pm to 2pm today handing out Fiji Airways t-shirts.
