The Fiji Rugby Union is hoping for a win from the Fiji A team tonight in the first leg of the Punjas A series against Tonga A to set the platform to defend the Pacific Rugby Cup title.

Chairman Bill Gavoka speaking on our sister radio station Viti FM on a talk back last night, said it is important for the Fiji A team to win this match as they have a lot at stake during the PRC and PNC.

Gavoka said this will also be a chance for local players to impress the selectors and be part of the Flying Fijian for the Test match against the Wallabies in June and also during the PNC.

He added that tonight game is the begin of the journey for the Fiji team to next year’s World Cup where they hope to do better than the 2007 results.

The Fiji A and Tonga A match will kick-off at the TFL Stadium at 7pm and live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
