The Digicel Fiji sevens rugby side will need to improve on how they start a game as they will meet Scotland in the Cup quarterfinal.

Coach Ben Ryan said he is happy with how they beat England in the last pool game but Scotland is up next and even a possible showdown with New Zealand in the semi finals.


Fiji will meet Scotland in the second Cup quarterfinal at 8:13 tonight after beating England 26-21 in their last pool match early this morning.

Fiji dominated the game in the first half and led 14-7 with tries from Samisoni Viriviri and Emosi Mulevoro.

Donasio Ratubuli and Benito Eremasi scored early in the second half as Fiji raced away with a 26-7 lead before England scored two tries.

Fiji defeated USA in their first pool match 36-5 before beating Canada 26-19 in their second pool match.

In other quarterfinals New Zealand will play Argentina at 7.51pm, South Africa meet Kenya at 8.35pm while Wales will face England 8.57pm in the last cup quarters.

The Cup semifinals will start at 2:29am tomorrow and the Cup final will be at 5:21am.
