The Fiji 7s team will field its best possible lineup tonight against South Africa in the first Cup quarterfinals of the 7s Rugby World Cup in Moscow.

That's the assurance from Digicel Fiji 7s Coach Alifereti Dere after assessing all the players in pool play.

Speaking from Moscow to Fijivillage, Dere said this is why he rotated the players so he can decide on his best lineup for the knockout stages.

Dere added that the team will step up tonight after their 19-14 loss to World Champions Wales this morning.

After the final round of pool games, seven teams were confirmed quarter finalist and Fiji was just lucky enough to book the final eighth spot ahead of Samoa and Canada because of points difference.

If Scotland and South Africa drew in their final pool match this morning then Fiji would have been eliminated from the Cup competition.

Fiji's quarterfinal opponent South Africa has not conceded a single point in the tournament which shows the strength in their defense while they won all their pool games in convincing style which reflects their caliber in attack.

The full cup quarterfinals draw will see Fiji play South Africa at 9pm, New Zealand face Wales at 9.22pm, England meet Australia at 9.44pm before France play Kenya at 10.06pm.

The Cup semis kick off at 12.40am tomorrow while the World Cup 7s final will start at 4.55am tomorrow.

The RWC 7s kicks off at 5.30 this afternoon.

The experienced Samoan side will not feature in the Cup quarterfinals after losing to Kenya.

Looking at some results this morning, Kenya beat Samoa 17-12, New Zealand won 26-19 over USA, England defeated Argentina 14-12, Australia drew 17-all with France and South Africa hammered Scotland 41-0.

Meanwhile the Fijiana 7s team lost to USA 31-5 and Brazil 17-14 but they drew 14-all with Spain in their first pool match.
