The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed the Vodafone Fiji Sevens team will receive a bonus payment and a significant share of the prize money which they won in the Hong Kong Sevens.

Chief Executive Officer, Radrodro Tabualevu said the Fiji Rugby Union board has recognized the hard work put in by the players to win the Hong Kong Sevens and they have decided that the team should receive a significant share of the prize money.

He said the players will be getting the normal bonus from the sponsors and in addition to their allowance and salary they will also receive a share of the prize money from the Hong Kong 7s.

Tabualevu said they cannot reveal the payout as this is part of their contract agreement with the players.

Tabualevu has given his assurance that the Fiji Rugby Union will

continue to do the best for the Vodafone Fiji Sevens team.

The Vodafone Fiji Sevens team won $100,000 US dollars at the Hong Kong Sevens.

Meanwhile, Fiji will play Wales in its first pool match of the Japan 7s at 1pm tomorrow.

We then take on Hong Kong at 4.18pm tomorrow and the final pool match is against England at 8.30pm.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 2.20pm Sunday, the Cup semis kick off at 6.22pm Sunday while the Japan 7s Cup final starts at 9pm Sunday.
