The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has started their Paris 7s campaign with a 38-12 win over Scotland in their first pool match this morning.
The national side scored six tries to two to outclass the Scottish side.
Toulon winger Josua Tuisova stamped his mark as he scored the first try after receiving a timely offload from Glasgow Warriors lock Leone Nakarawa in the first minute.
Tuisova then scored another try from Jerry Tuwai’s offload.
Speedster Samisoni Viriviri also made his presence known by scoring two tries and managed to reach the 100 try score mark in his World 7s Series all time points.
Fiji’s other tries were scored by Jasa Veremalua and Kitione Taliga in the second half.
Fiji was leading 21-5 at halftime.
Looking at the starting line up in the first game, coach Ben Ryan started with Leone Nakarawa, Isake Katonibau, Jasa Veremalua, Jerry Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvou, Osea Kolinisau and Josua Tuisova on the wing.
Meanwhile, in other matches this morning, Kenya came from behind in the second half to beat Portugal 29-14, New Zealand defeated Russia 35-10, Samoa thrashed Wales 52-10, Argentina also thrashed USA 36-0, France beat Canada 42-5 while South Africa defeated England 24-5.
Fiji will now take on Wales at 9.14pm tonight and then face Samoa in our last pool match at 12.47am tomorrow morning.
The Paris 7s Cup quarterfinals will start at 9.13pm tomorrow, the Cup semifinals will start at 1.03am Monday while the Cup Final will kick off at 4.15am Monday.
