The Digicel Fiji 7s team received one of the warmest welcome ceremony from former Fiji residents in Wellington.

Team Manager, Semi Rogoyawa said the players were surprised to see around 200 people at the Church service where they met all the supporters.

Rogoyawa added a number of rugby fans followed the team to its two training sessions yesterday which has further boosted the morale in the camp.


The New Zealand Sevens kicks off in Wellington this Friday with Fiji taking on Scotland at 1.50pm in its first pool match.

Fiji then takes on Australia at 4.46pm and the last pool match is against Portugal at 8.34pm.
