The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team are ready for their first game against Samoa in the Sydney 7s tonight.

Coach Gareth Baber says they have enough firepower to survive their Pool of Death.

Baber is excited to see Alosio Naduva and Waisea Nacuqu perform in this weekend’s Sydney 7s.

He adds that Naduva will bring in something that other teams have never seen before.

Baber adds that Nacuqu is in good form and will go into the playmaker’s role with Amenoni Nasilasila.

Meanwhile, Vasikali Mudu has been excluded from the final 12 to play this weekend.

Mudu who is travelling with the team to Sydney and Hamilton will be covering for any injury during the tournament.

Baber is expecting their first pool match against Samoa to be tough.

The Samoan 7s team was camping in New Zealand over the holiday period and working on fitness and combinations for the side.

Fiji will play their first game against Samoa at 8.28 tonight.

We play Russia in our second game at 5.09pm tomorrow before taking on New Zealand at 8.42pm tomorrow.

The quarterfinals will start at 12.28pm Sunday, the semifinals are at 6.36pm while the final will kick off at 9.48pm.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana lost to Canada 24-12 in their first pool match this morning and lost to Russia 19-12.

They are currently playing Ireland in their last pool match.
