Fiji 7s team opts for experience
From their training run and warm up games in the past few days, Coach Iliesa Tanivula and his assistant Joe Savou have been using players who have played in past IRB 7s tournaments in their starting line-up.
It is likely that Jerry Burotu, Watisoni Votu and Apisai Nayabo will start in the forwards with captain Emosi Vucago at half back, Ilai Tinai at playmaker, Mitieli Nacagilevu at rover and Joeli Lutumailagi on the wing.
The likes of newcomers Nemani Nagusa, Semesa Gonevou, Peni Gaunimeke, Kelemedi Bola and Apisai Navoro are expected to be used as impact players.
Meanwhile, a steady flow of supporters into the Fiji camp has boosted the morale in camp.
Speaking to Fijivillage Sports from their hotel room this morning, Team Manager Tevita Waqairawai said former Fiji citizens have been visiting the boys since they jetted in and this has lifted the spirits in camp.
Waqairawai said that at the nations parade happening this hour they have been assured of major crowd support.
The Digicel Fiji 7's team takes on France tomorrow at 1.44pm, then Canada at 4.40pm and the last pool game against South Africa at 9.12pm.
