The Fiji 7s team is on track to achieve its required fitness level for the Rio Olympics.

With the sevens debut at the Olympics looming, Trainer Nacanieli Cawanibuka is relaxed about the players’ fitness.

Cawanibuka says the current program for the men’s team has never been done before.

He adds for the first time ever the players have had proper pre-season programs.

The men’s and women’s 7s teams will head to Rio later this week.

Fiji will take on Brazil in their first Rio Olympics pool game at 4.30am next Wednesday, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am before taking on USA at 4.30am next Thursday.

The quarterfinals will start at 8am next Thursday, the semis will start at 5.30am next Friday and the final will kick off at 10am next Friday.

Barring any upsets, Fiji will meet France, Kenya or Argentina in the Medal Quarter Final, Australia or Great Britain in the Medal Semi Final and NZ or South Africa in the Gold Medal Final.

The Rio Olympics opening ceremony will start at 11am Saturday.
