The Vodafone Fiji 7s team made a good start at the Gold Coast 7s after beating Scotland 40-7 in their first pool match.
Captain Osea Kolinisau was in top form scoring three of Fiji’s six tries.
Other tries came from Savenaca Rawaca, Apisalome Waqatabu and Vatemo Ravouvou.
Fiji had a shaky start in the first half as they led 14-7 but after a strong message from coach Ben Ryan during the halftime break they came back strongly in the second spell to claim victory.
Fiji’s next pool match is against Portugal at 5.23pm before taking on Australia at 9.01pm in their last pool match.
The quarterfinals will be at 12.48pm tomorrow, the semifinals will kick off at 4.53pm while the final will be held at 7.49pm.
