The national sevens team recorded their first loss in the Pacific Mini Games after going down to Samoa 19-12.

Fiji earlier beat Papua New Guinea this morning 24-5 and they will meet New Caledonia in their last match.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Rugby Union has not received anything from the Fiji sevens management in Wallis and Futuna whether an athlete and a weightlifter can play for the National side.
 
FRU Operations Manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka said they cannot approve anything because no request has come through.

The Digicel Fiji 7s team is playing in the Mini Games with nine players after four players were ruled out due to disciplinary reasons while another player was injured.

Team Fiji is still fifth on the overall medal tally with 11 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze.
