“We know that Fiji is celebrating its 42nd year of Independence.”

Those were the words of national 7s coach Timoci Wainiqolo ahead of their first game at the Gold Coast 7s tomorrow.

Wainiqolo said the players are aware that people of all races came together as one under the noble banner blue this week in different centers to commemorate our independence.

Wainiqolo added the national day celebrations this week have certainly boosted the morale of the players.

Wainiqolo also said the players are ready for the new scrum rules which will now have, crouch-touch-set, instead of the crouch-touch-pause-engage which was used before.

The Digicel Fiji 7s team will meet Scotland in its first pool match at 2:42pm tomorrow, Fiji will play Tonga at 5.58pm and will then face Australia at 9.46pm.
