Our Fiji 7s warriors are now just hours away from starting their final phase to win Fiji’s first ever gold medal in the Olympics.

Fiji captain, Osea Kolinisau says the team knows that there is a lot of pressure on them to deliver the win for the country.

He says they are ready after months of preparations with coach, Ben Ryan.

From playing touch rugby on the streets to leading the Fiji team to the first ever 7s competition in the Rio Olympics, Kolinisau says this is what the players have been waiting for and it will be the highlight of their playing career.

Lanky forward Leone Nakarawa believes Brazil will come out strongly in front of their home crowd in their first pool match at 4.30am tomorrow.

Ben Ryan has today officially put a halt to his social media and will be back after the Men’s 7s Olympics Tournament on Friday.

Ryan tweeted this morning “I'm shutting down on here till end of tournament. We started journey here ‑ all for one aim. Go Fiji Go. #veilomani.”

Fiji is pooled with Brazil, USA and Argentina.

Mike Friday's USA side come into the competition having finished sixth overall on the world series but with a fully rejuvenated squad, including the likes of Perry Baker, Madison Hughes, Carlin Isles and NFL convert Nate Ebner, they are a dangerous prospect for their rivals.

Friday has told World Rugby that Fiji are the team everyone needs to beat and the pressure is on them to win their country’s first gold medal in Rio.

Santiago Gomez Cora's Argentina side may have something to say about that having finished fifth on the World Series and coming very close to their first Cup victory in Cape Town last December where they were overpowered by hosts South Africa.

Gomez Cora, the former all‑time top try scorer on the World Series, says he is looking forward to his side's debut at the Games.

Hosts Brazil also contain a few dangerous players, such as the Duque brothers ‑ Lucas and Moises ‑ who showed on the few tournaments they competed in on the world series just why the Brazillians won't be a walkover.

Fiji will take on Brazil in their first Rio Olympics pool game at 4.30am tomorrow, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am tomorrow before taking on USA at 4.30am Thursday.

The quarterfinals will start at 8am Thursday, the semis will start at 5.30am Friday and the final will kick off at 10am Friday.

Barring any upsets, Fiji will meet France, Kenya or Argentina in the Medal Quarter Final, Australia or Great Britain in the Medal Semi Final and NZ or South Africa in the Gold Medal Final.
