It is the only IRB 7s title left with the Digicel Fiji 7s team and coach Iliesa Tanivula knows the importance of this leg of the series in trying to win the overall title.
The side left in the last hour to defend the New Zealand 7s title in Wellington and Tanivula said they have to show from their opening pool game on Friday that they mean business.
Fiji's toughest pool assignment will be against Paul Treu and his South African team.
Treu has lost to Tanivula's boys in both the Dubai and George leg of the series and hopes he can turn the results to favour South Africa this weekend.
Fiji is in Pool D with South Africa, France and Canada.
They will play France at 1.44pm Friday in their opening pool game.
