The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has defeated Wales 19-10 in their first pool match of the Japan 7s.

The national side scored three tries from Samisoni Viriviri, captain Osea Kolinisau and Savenaca Rawaca to outclass the strong Welsh side.

Fiji led 12-5 at halftime while Savenaca Rawaca was sin binned for not releasing in the tackle before halftime.

Fiji will now face Hong Kong at 4.18pm before facing England at 8.30 tonight.

22 points is up for grab for cup winner in this tournament while the runners up will get 19 points.
