The Vodafone Fiji 7s side has been allocated $2.3 million to prepare for the Olympics next year and will use its playing kit from the last season in the opening two legs of the World Sevens Series in Dubai and Cape Town next month.
Chairman of the Fiji Sports Commission Peter Mazey says that the board has approved this allocation this morning although Ben Ryan was asking for $3 million.
Mazey adds that Fiji Football will be getting $720,000.
Meanwhile $1.9 million was allocated for the Flying Fijians Northern Hemisphere tour, the Pacific Nations Cup, Rugby Under‑20 World Cup and the Pacific Challenge.
