Fiji will not feature in next year’s second Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, because they did not qualify.
FASANOC chief executive officer Lorraine Mar said Fiji failed to qualify because they fell short in the Rugby World Cup 7s in Moscow.
The Fiji 7s team lost in the semifinals of the Melrose Cup in June.
This is the first time that rugby sevens will be part of the Youth Games as it will also feature in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Six teams will feature in the Youth Olympics rugby 7s which includes the host nation.
