Digicel Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan has named a strong line-up to face Canada in their first pool match tomorrow in the Gold Coast 7's.
Ulaiasi Lawavou, Manueli Laqai and Samuela Saqiwa will start in the forwards.
Westfield Babas playmaker Waisea Nacuqu will make his debut at half back, Ilai Tinai at playmaker, captain Osea Kolinisau will be at rover while Hong Kong 7's tournament best and fairest player Samisoni Viriviri will start on the wing.
Despite losing to Samoa in the Oceania 7s tournament final last week, Captain Osea Kolinisau is confident of defending their title this weekend.
Meanwhile, Australia Thunderbolts captain Ed Jenkins said they are also relishing their chances of winning the title at home but they have to battle past Samoa and Argentina in pool play.
However, Samoan 7s team coach Viliamu Punivalu said they are up for the challenge and has hinted to their opponents that they should be wary of new robusting prop forward Misioka Timoteo who can be compared to former player Alafoti Faosiliva.
World 7s Series defending champions New Zealand 7s team speed merchant Sherwin Stowers said they are under no pressure of winning this weekend.
The Gold Coast 7s kicks off at 12.30pm tomorrow and Fiji's first pool match is against Canada at 1.58pm.
Fiji's second match is against Portugal at 5.14pm and the last pool match will be against Wales at 9.24pm.
The Cup quarter finals start at 1.58pm on Sunday, Cup semis kick off at 5.58pm and the Cup final will be played at 9.04pm.
