The Vodafone Fiji 7s team and the Telecom Fijiana side are both going for gold in the Pacific Games 7s competition tonight.
The gold medal quarterfinals for the men’s competition start at 3.06pm today, the semis start at 4.56pm while the final is at 9.49 tonight.
Fiji last won gold in the 2003 Pacific Games.
Meanwhile the Telecom Fijiana side play their final pool match against Tahiti at 2pm today.
The playoffs will start at 6.46pm while the gold medal playoff is at 8.58 tonight.
The women’s basketball team remain unbeaten in the Pacific Games after they defeated Papua New Guinea 88-60 in the first playoff match yesterday.
Their next playoff match will be against Tahiti at 3pm today.
The Fiji men’s soccer team is currently taking on PNG in the Olympic Qualifier Semi Final. The score is nil-all.
New Zealand play Vanuatu in the second semifinal.
The Olympic Qualifier final will be played on Sunday at 4.30pm.
Looking at the Legend FM Pacific Games medal tally, Papua New Guinea is leading with 31 gold, 16 silver and 11 bronze.
Tahiti is in second place with 15 gold, 13 silver and 11 bronze, Samoa is in third place with 14 gold and 14 silver, New Caledonia is now in fourth place with 14 gold and 12 silver and 11 bronze, and Australia is in fifth place with 8 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze.
Team Fiji is now in fifth place with 8 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze.
