Interim sevens coach Timoci Wainiqolo will take the national team to three IRB tournaments in the world 7s series calendar.

Wainiqolo will guide the team to the Gold Coast, Wellington and Las Vegas 7s tournament as head coach Alifereti Dere will not be able to make the trips due to travel restrictions.

Wainiqolo said he has two weeks to prepare the team and believes he can put together a winning combination which can successfully defend their Gold Coast title.

The former national 7s player added that right now he is focusing on team bonding.

Only 14 of the 24 national training squad members are in camp as three players will be part of the Nadi side for this weekends Farebrother rugby challenge while seven players are with the Nadroga team.

The final 14 member team for the Gold Coast 7s on the 13th and 14th of next month is expected to be announced next Saturday.
