Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan has praised some players for turning down overseas offers and focusing on representing their country.
Ryan said they had a lot of stops and starts with some players returning from injuries while some have been offered overseas contracts.
He is glad that hard hitting center Savenaca Rawaca is running again after some fluid was drained from his knee.
He added that Jerry Tuwai and Osea Kolinisau have recovered well and Semi Kunatani has picked up on his fitness to the standard required.
The 12 players for the Hong Kong and Japan 7s will be announced at 12pm Friday.
Fiji has been known as the king of Hong Kong 7's as it has claimed 14 of the 39 titles.
Fiji is pooled with Canada, Samoa and Belgium in the Hong Kong 7s which kicks off next Friday.
