Vodafone Fiji 7s team coach Gareth Baber is happy with the players composure at the Hong Kong 7s.
Speaking after the win over New Zealand, Baber says they expected a tough match from New Zealand but managed to keep their cool and composure.
He says they worked hard and were able to snatch it right when it could have been taken away from them.
Fiji beat rival New Zealand 17‑14 last night to stay on course to win the Hong Kong Sevens for a third straight year.
The Olympic champions were facing the possibility of failing to make it out of the preliminary stage after being held to a 17‑17 draw with Wales but ended up finishing top of Pool C after a dramatic last‑gasp win over New Zealand.
The Kiwis almost won right at the end with a last‑minute try but the try was disallowed after the final pass was ruled to have gone forward.
Fiji, Australia, USA and South Africa are unbeaten at the Hong Kong 7s.
Fiji will meet Canada at 3.20pm in the second quarterfinal.
In the other quarters, South Africa will meet New Zealand, Australia will take on Argentina and USA will meet England.
Barring any upsets, Fiji is likely to meet Australia or Argentina in the semifinal, England, South Africa or New Zealand in the final.
The quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm today, the semifinals will start at 7.31pm while the Medal final will be held at 11 tonight.
