We start off with the NZ 7s.

The Digicel Fiji 7s defeated Argentina by 31-0 in their first pool match of the NZ 7s.

Fiji’s first try came from captain, Setefano Cakau 60 seconds into the game as Cakau led by example brushed aside the strong Argentinian defence.

It was also history in the making for Uprising 7s team’s Waisea Nayacalevu who scored a brilliant first try in the IRB 7s.

Osea Kolinisau, Lepani Botia and Jone Tiko also executed superb tries for Fiji.

Fiji led 14-0 at half time.

Fiji looked good on attack however the kickoffs and defense remained an issue.

Meanwhile Digicel Fiji 7s coach, Etuate Waqa said his team needed to perform far better than what they displayed against Argentina in the first match of the New Zealand 7s.

Speaking from Wellington, Waqa highlighted they need to work on their defence and kickoffs for the next two pool matches.
