Only few days remain for the Sugar Cane Growers Council to wind up its operations however it is currently operating as normal.

Sugar Ministry Permanent Secretary, Viliame Gucake said they are implementing the cabinet's decision to dissolve the council by next Wednesday.

The cabinet decided on the 11th of August to dissolve the council by 11th November, and all council's operations to be transferred to Fiji Sugar Corporation and the Sugar Industry Tribunal.

According to Gucake no decision is made on the council executive's request not to dissolve the administrative arm of the council.
