Former Chief Justice of Fiji Daniel Fatiaki has been sworn in as a Supreme Court judge in Vanuatu.

Fatiaki was earlier charged by Fiji authorities with a range of misconduct offences.

However, he resigned as Fiji's chief justice in December last year in an agreement he received a payout of more than $200,000 from the government.

Radio NZ has reported that Fatiaki was last week sworn in as a Supreme Court judge in Vanuatu for two years.
