Father sentenced to 4 months imprisonment
The court heard that on 15th of this month, Rajendra Kumar told his 39 year old sick wife to mix grog for him and when she refused, Kumar forcefully got her out of bed and accused her of having an affair.
Kumar than picked up a piece of timber and hit his wife on the head which resulted in her receiving three stitches on her head.
Kumar pleaded guilty in court and asked for forgiveness. He also informed the court that this was the first time he got so angry and that he had reconciled with his wife.
Magistrate Mary Muir told Kumar that this was no longer a reconcilable offence.
Kumar claimed that his wife was having an affair and left home on occasions without informing anyone. The wife told the court that her elder son is working who can support them and asked for a restraining order against her husband to ensure he stays away from them.
