Father charged with incest remanded in custody
The Tailevu farmer was charged with five counts of incest by Nausori Police told Nausori court that he weould like to engage legal aid. The matter has been adjourned till 13th October.
The man allegedly committed the offence first in 1989 when the daughter was only 18 years old. He also allegedly threatened his wife and other family members not to report the matter to anyone.
The daughter reported the matter to a relative who then took it up to police.
Meanwhile, three men are still being questioned in relation to the alleged murder of a 3 year old girl in Beqa.
Deputy Director Police Operations, SP Erami Raibe says the three remain in police custody who were brought in to Navua for questioning.Post mortem report reveals that the 3 year old whose body was found near the reef may have been strangled.
