The 50 year old father from Basoga, Labasa has been charged by Police for allegedly hacking his daughter’s boyfriend with a cane knife yesterday morning.
Police have charged the father with one count of act with intent to cause grievance bodily harm and will appear in the Labasa Magistrate court tomorrow morning.
The 23 year old boyfriend remains admitted at the Labasa Hospital in a serious condition after undergoing surgery yesterday.
The alleged incident took place when the boyfriend made a visit to his girlfriends place.
According to Police, the father heard some noise coming out from the daughter’s room and upon checking he found the boyfriend hiding under the bed.
The father brought a cane knife from the kitchen and allegedly hacked it for a few times onto the victims back.
