Fashion in Fiji is quickly evolving and I am grateful to have an opportunity to showcase my new sense of fashion style.
These are the words of an upcoming local designer Gwen Fong who's fashion line has a gothic influence, adding she is grateful for the organisers initiative to have an event such as Fiji Fashion Week, which enables her and close to 200 other emerging designers a chance to showcase their work.
Fong said people in Fiji have also been more welcoming to new forms of fashion which makes her work more enjoyable.
Fiji Fashion Week started today with the Purple Dress Charity Luncheon and Kids Fashion Show at the Holiday Inn.
All proceeds will be donated to the Kidney Foundation of Fiji.
