Farmers in the North have been asked to think of a "Made In Vanua Levu" Initiative for the North.

That was the challenge issued by the Divisional Planning Officer Northern Ratu Eliki Tikoidraubuta while addressing participants at the Exporters Seminar in Labasa.

Tikoidraubuta said the North is ideally positioned to export unique and exceptional products to the world market with the abundance of natural resources such as the forests, marine resources, agricultural products, coconut, tourism.

Tikoidraubuta said as a result products from the North which will be exported are exceptional, distinctive and of very high quality.

Meanwhile, Fiji Islands Trade and Investment Bureau's general manager Northern Olivia Mavoa, said the challenge though may be a hard one but is achievable.
