Close to 15,000 farmers are expected to benefit from seedlings given by the UNDP to help in the rehabilitation of their crops.

Permanent Secretary for Agriculture Colonel Mason Smith while receiving the donation of seedlings from UN resident Coordinator Knut Otsby said the seeds will be given out to farmers in the Central and Western Division to help then retain part of their livelihood that they had lost.

Smith added some of the initial $109,000 relief assistance that was given by UNDP will be used to also start a seed bank.
